Note to self and a friendly reminder to my fellow enthusiast, don't ever trust the pictures you see online and don't go overly excited prematurely.
I snagged this off from an online buy and sell site. I was really ecstatic when I first saw the post because it was being sold dirt cheap. I really thought I hit the jackpot on this one because I was sure it was a Masudaya toy gun. The seller did not really indicate much info on his ad and it only had a couple of blurred photos. I asked for markings on the gun from the seller and he provided me with the markings he saw on the gun. Because I was already excited I disregarded what he said and just thought that he might have seen it somewhere on the gun but it's not the actual brand and model. I told the seller that I will be getting the toy gun and scheduled a meet.
The night before the meet, I dug deep and researched further on the Masudaya Detachable SS toy gun series and immediately realized that the one posted is probably a knockoff. So why push through with the deal?

Well first off, the design is super cool and screams 80's toy! And like what the famous picker once said, if you see something unique you better get it. Second, it was cheap and I believe I can still sell it for profit or probably swap with something I like. And lastly it's a bootleg of most sought off toy gun in clean and mint condition! So yes, I still went home pretty happy with the catch.
The toy gun comes neatly stored in an attache-case like box. And like the many super secret spy guns of the 80's the gun looks like a simple pistol with out the add on parts, however once you attach all the additional parts the gun transforms into a rifle like gun. The toy gun is made entirely off plastic except for the springs and screws of course. It comes with a rubber like bullets stored in a box that you can also use for target practice.
Now my dilemma is what to do with the toy gun. As you may have been asking since the beginning of the post, why am I posting a gun on a car heavy site. I'm not really a gun guy not unless it's a sniper rifle, and would really prefer a vintage RC kit or die-cast car. Anyways, it's still a cool haul and will most likely keep it until someone offers to buy it or trade something for it. ;D ;D
