I did what he said and low and behold right in front of me was indeed a small black car, but not just any other small black car. He (I'm really sorry but I can't remember his name) waved at me and motioned for me to get in the car. The car, a 90's Nissan Pulsar GTi-R, that alone paid for my lengthy travel. We talked about the car on the way to his house and he proudly challenged me to try and look for the same car within Manila and if I do he will return the money I paid him for the RC car. That transaction was the most fun transaction that I ever had.
Most of the time you meet different new people because of your hobby or work, or business or though friends of friends. However, because of me buying and selling stuff I have met two different cool person with the help of a vintage Tamiya F102 RC.
I got this RC online and I had to meet up with the seller on his place very far from mine. The deal was so good that I agreed to meet up with him. He told me that he will pick me up on a mall near his residence. Several minutes after my arrival on the designated place he called my cell and instructed me to walk towards the entrance of the mall and look for a small black car.

The F102 according to the seller was bought from Singapore, played with and was stored ever since. He also mentioned that he remembers buying up grade parts for it. At home I checked the components installed on the kit and the kit was indeed had been upgraded. Installed was a full ball bearing set, an aluminum motor mount, glass fiber rear axle and aluminum body mounts. However, the kit has seen better days and it was surely had been played with. Nevertheless, it was still a good buy and will always be a classic. I had plans on restoring it and I actually started to purchase parts for it. But like all the other collections that I had before, this one also has been sold.
The F102 together with the AE RC18R and few more RC's that I have has been sold to one cool collector and RC enthusiast. I actually never met Garrick personally because he asked someone to pick up the kits from me. But I was able to talk to him and actually continued to exchange SMS and emails with him for a period of time because we both love vintage RC's. The last conversation that I had with him, he mentioned that he already got a new body for the F102 and some parts and the car is already under restoration. We talked about me taking photos of his entire collection and featuring it on my blog, but that never materialized because I lost contact with him and there where just so many things that had happened to me back then. I sure do wish that I get to meet him personally one day and finally be able to feature his collection here in my new blog site. Anyways, here are few more pictures of the kit as I was really happy about this haul and took a lot of pictures of it planning to write about it before,
