It is related! Nuff said!
Well I use it when drafting my scratch built works and for sketching so yeah it's related. :D
Got some issues with my dioramas so I decided to take a couple of days off working on it. While cleaning my work place I found my small collection of mechanical pencils! What I'm currently using is a Rotring Tikky ii (first pen from the top) which served my purpose very well. Inspecting my pens I remembered that I have a Rotring Tikky that had issues. The lead keeps on jamming the pen tip. I then decided to check on it and fix it, I also realized that this is an excellent opportunity to try out my DIY Macro Lens!

I disassembled the pen and cleared out the jam. Placed a new lead and tried the pen, jammed, again. I then tried to insert a steel rod that is just about the inner diameter of the pen tip, went through with no issues about 90% of the way and then stuck! I then realized that the tip could be bent or corroded that causes the lead to get jammed. My solution, replace the tip! I had donor pens so I decided that it would be easier to replace the tip. Few light tap, few push here and there and then voila it's fixed! Once I was sure that it had no issues with it's mechanism, I decided to clean the pen body and take pictures of the process to test out my macro lens.
After cleaning the Tikky I went on and clean the Tikky ii! Unfortunately There's not much I can do with the pen since I can't decipher how to take it apart. I tried to look for a how-to onlline but can't find any. But, I did find a very cool blog site that features pens!
You can visit The Old Geezer's blog site at onelonemanspensandpencils.blogspot.com some cool cool pens there and excellent reviews, makes me want to buy moar pens!
All clean and working, I am now a happy owner and user of Tikky and Tikky ii! Here are more pics of the two pens and a couple of detail pictures of the Tikky ii.
